Description:
Maxim Staffing Solutions is looking for a Cytotechnologist to examine patient cells to detect abnormalities that might indicate infections, cancer or other diseases. The Cytotechnologist will work with pathologists if abnormalities, in the cells, are detected to determine an accurate diagnosis for the patient.
Responsibilities include:
• Coordinate and participate in specialized and complex technical tasks involved in screening slides of clinical specimens for evidence of cancer or other pathological conditions to include marking abnormalities, recording diagnoses and filing cases for subsequent review with pathologist.
• Coordinate technical activities in the cytology preparatory laboratory and monitor and day-to-day activities of the cytology laboratory.
• Review patient history for each case; coordinate files of slides, diagnosis and laboratory reports; maintain files of teaching slides for cytology students.
Qualifications include:
• Bachelor of Science degree in biological science or related field preferred.
• One (1) year of experience preferred.
• Successfully pass all Maxim screening exams with a score of 80% or greater.
• Must meet Maxim's pre-employment screening requirements.
• Current physical exam, if required by state regulations or contract specifications.
• Current TB test or chest x-ray.
