Description:
The Monitoring Technician must be fully capable of detecting and differentiating abnormal cardiac rhythms as evidence by a passing score on a cardiac monitoring EKG test.
Responsibilities include:
• Reviewing patient records to determine normal heart rhythms.
• Monitoring current patterns and noting any deviations.
• Observing monitor screen and listening for alarms that would identify abnormal heart rhythm variations.
• Notifying nurses and/or doctors when needed.
• Cleaning and maintaining equipment, ensuring batteries are charged and installed properly.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications include
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Good organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
• Successful completion of a hospital approved arrhythmia interpretation class.
• Minimum of one (1) year work experience in hospital program preferred.
• Current BLS certification (per contract and/or Maxim policy)
• Current health certificate
• Successful completion of Maxim background screening and hiring process.
• Successful completion of Maxim screening/competency exam(s) with a passing score of 80% or greater.
