Q & A with Casey

How did you come to join Maxim?

I came across Maxim through LinkedIn after graduating from college. What initially attracted me to Maxim was the idea of having the ability to impact the lives of patients and caregivers. My older sister decided to pursue a career as a registered nurse where she could directly make an impact on her patients and families. This came after experiencing loss in our own family and seeing how significant a role healthcare providers played in making a seemingly despairing situation a more comfortable one. I knew I wanted to make an impact, whether it be directly or indirectly, in the lives of the people served.

The second aspect that drew me in was the interview and hiring process. From the first phone interview with talent resources, the Pit Sit and the hiring process I knew I was in a position with a company where I would have the ability to have what I wanted in a career, the ability to make an impact. I started as a recruiter in our Orange County, CA office. I then spent about two and a half years in the recruiter role before moving into the Account Recruiting Manager (ARM) role overseeing core services.

Eight months later, I took on the Business Development Manager (BDM) role when we decided that core services was ready to be its own business line. After almost three years in the BDM role, I began a new journey as the Director of Business Operations (DBO) overseeing the Los Angeles core market. I am now five months into the DBO role, and I am extremely grateful to be welcomed into a market with so much potential to grow with so many talented individuals.

What advice do you have for employees looking to get involved at Maxim?

My advice is to set fear aside and just reach out to those involved in the program. I encourage this at an office level with colleagues, managers and directors. Innovation and creativity often come from those employees who are hands-on at an office level day in and day out. My goal as a leader is to create a safe space where employees are empowered to share their ideas for making a difference. Just as we encourage conversation about getting involved and sharing thoughts and ideas at the office level, I would encourage employees to network with Maxim’s D&I group members.

Where might we find you on the weekend?

You will likely find me spending time with family or friends at least one day of the weekend. I just bought a house near the beach, so you might find me exploring restaurants in our local beach cities as well. If I’m not with family or exploring outdoors, you’ll most likely find me on the couch binging a Netflix show.

Reflecting on your time at Maxim, what accomplishment are you proudest of?

I am most proud of the promotions I have been able to be involved in, whether the individuals were a part of my family tree directly or individuals that I’ve had the chance to mentor. I pride myself on my investment in the success of others, whatever that means to them. It’s the number one motivator for me and nothing brings me more of a sense of pride than seeing others who value making a difference finding their career trajectory here at Maxim.
